​This second tier of training, in accordance with California Law, provides the student with a total of 16 hours of continuing education, focusing on topics critical to success as a private Security Officer. Topics include:

Phase Three Training
(REQUIRED WITHIN 6 MOS. OF STARTING WORK)

This final portion of training is elective coursework. SSTC incorporates the following topics into its Phase Three course:


  • Tactical Communication
  • Searching & Handcuffing
  • Criminal Law & Essential Codes
  • Courtroom Testimony

Power to Arrest & Weapons of Mass Destruction
(REQUIRED FOR GUARD CARD APPLICATION)

Total Course Time: 8 Hours    - $ 60   


​Part One: Power to Arrest (4 hours)

Familiarizes the student on topics outlined by the California Business and Professions Code section 7583.7, including legal aspects, techniques, liability, and employer requirements relating to private persons arrests an individual. Requires passage of a written examination with a score of 100%.


Part Two: Weapons of Mass Destruction & Terrorism Awareness (4 hours). Familiarizes the student on the subject matter and observation skills required to identify and report precursor activities to a terrorist event, react appropriately, report the occurrence of a terrorist event, and remain safe while helping control the scene after a terrorist event.
